Any time you give a child a toy that she plays with all the time, you know you’ve hit a home run as a gift-giver. The Baby Alive Baby All Gone aims to be the kind of doll that little girls just can’t put down. And since the makers of this baby doll have made it so that your little one can feed and give drinks to it, this is one doll that little girls all over the world are asking for. The first thing that I noticed, while getting this doll out of the package, was just how sturdy this doll is. I know that it sounds silly to talk about a baby doll being sturdy, but there’s really no other way to describe this one. And it really is an important consideration for parents and care givers. In the past, I’ve bought baby dolls for my daughter that were so flimsy, they started to fall apart after being handled for just a few weeks. But the solid, plastic construction of this doll means that it holds up well, even after months of regular use and abuse by the kids.

Beyond this doll being one that’s built to last, it’s just plain fun for girls to play with. The Baby Alive Baby All Gone comes with a special feeding spoon that makes it look like the doll is actually eating baby food. And since no toy food parts are actually used (there’s a switch on the spoon that makes the food “disappear”), you don’t have to worry about small, toy food parts getting lost. The sippy cup also gives the illusion of the juice being consumed, but it’s just a trick cup that fills back up when you turn it right side up.

These little technical details don’t matter to my daughter, though, because when she plays with hers, she is really feeding the doll in her imagination – and that’s all that matters to her…

While putting this review together, I took a look at some of the online customer reviews. Out of the seven reviews that I found, nearly all of them were positive; garnering this doll a solid 4 out of 5 star rating. It should be noted that it may take younger children a few times to get a hang of feeding this doll, but once they do it’s easy and they have a blast doing it. This is one of my daughter’s favorite toys, and I recommend it to anyone who has a little baby doll fan to buy for.
